Photographers these days have to really put it out their in order to be noticed and competitive, and not just with our own websites. While I'm in the process of redesigning my site with a high-tech look and interactive slideshow presentation of my photos and links to my films, I bit the bullet and joined Flickr.com. I usually hate these so called social networking sites because they can be time wasters with communications that you don't want to participate in, but Flickr is a dedicated site to the photographic community from afficionados to pros and is a joyful site for those who enjoy looking at or taking pictures. Sure there are some turkeys on there, but there is outstanding work too and excellent discourse amongst hobbyists and professionals about technique, equipment and subjects. I'm hooked! So, if you're one of these people who admire photography and/or photographers, either join or take a look.
